Paul T. Jing, Esq. - Founder/Managing Partner

jingPaul is the founder of the firm and heads the English Commercial and Corporate Practice of the firm. He also oversees corporate finance, capital markets, foreign investment and the Intellectual Property Practice of the firm.

Paul is a World Bank Consultant whose consistent participation has earned him a "Doing Business Award" in recognition of five years of working in legal advisory partnership. As a corporate attorney, he assists major corporations seeking Reorganizations, Restructurings, Acquisitions and Divestitures. His portfolio includes Debtors, Senior Secured and Unsecured Creditors, Creditors' Committees, Syndicated Banks, Foreign Investors, Brokerage firms and Financial Advisors.

Paul has assisted a vast array of the foreign investors to acquire businesses and consolidate investments in Cameroon. He has carried out a wide range of due diligence work for foreign lenders, foreign investors, advising on Regulatory issues, Compliance, Foreign Direct Investment, Real Estate and regulatory framework of Utilities and his general areas of practice are inclusive but not limited to:
Corporations, International Joint Ventures, Mergers and Acquisitions, Intellectual Property, Securities, Civil and Commercial Litigation.

MAJOR FINANCE PROJECTS:

Mobile Telecommunications – Participated in the assistance of MTN International throughout its successful bid process, negotiation of subsequent license agreement with State of Cameroon, take-over of Camtel Mobile and corporate consolidation and labor restructuring process of MTN Cameroon Ltd(New entity).

1999-2000

Rubber Industry – Participated in the assistance of GMG/Panwell Group during the Negotiation of share transfer agreement between state of Cameroon, the take-over of Hevecam and corporate consolidation in Cameroon .

1998

Asset backed Finance –of Telecomm Industry Telecom participating in the assistance of borrower MTN Cameroon Ltd in a Euro100Million financing by Standard Bank, FMO and Citibank.

2001-2002

Capital Markets – Advised and arranged the 20 billion XAF IFC Regional Bond Issue within Cameroon, Congo, Chad Central African Republic and Gabon. Advised the consortium of Cameroon Banks to the successful landmark 200 billion XAF Bond Issue by the Government of Cameroon in 2010. These two transactions have earned JING & Partners the sterling reputation as leaders in Capital Markets Advisory work.

 

Participated in the assistance to the International Finance Corporation IFC and Caisse Française de Développement (CFD) and PROPARCO in financing of Pharmaceutical, Petroleum, Sugar and Palm oil industries.

2000-2002

Teamed with other local and foreign counsels to assist Lenders, Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund ( EAIF), FMO, Fortis Bank in the US$50 Million financing of the AES Sonel SA thermal Power Plant in Limbe, Cameroon

2003-2004

Represented AFDB, BDEAC, IFC, FMO, EAIF, PROPARCO, DEG, EIB (lenders) to AES Sonel in the Investment Plan financing. Deal Value approximately 400million Euros.

2005-2007

Other significant research works Paul has done in the capacity as World Bank consultants are: Lex Mundi-Corporate Governance Project, Doing Business Project, General Creditors Rights under Cameroonian Laws, Labour Regulation and review in Cameroon.
